As the end of AMF came, a strange thing happened. The order switched for the last two acts. Hazakim went first and Micah Mahoney went last and for me at least they were two of the most powerful performances. Hip-Hop is the music of our generation and it deserves to be highlighted and re-imagined as a Messianic art form. And it was fitting to end with Micah and his band on a note of reverent worship because after all this was a Messianic Jewish Music Festival and it made sense to end worshipping the One who created us and gave the vision for this event in the first place. ![]() |

AWESOME WORD RABBI. Thanks. Wish I could've been there...Appreciate the report...and your heart. Blessings <3
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Rebbe. Very glad to hear the good report.
ReplyDeleteThank you for putting a voice to the emotions I cannot express. AMF was one of the most, if not, the most profound points of time in my life. Thank you to all who organized, supported, and contributed to the mighty sound the Lord is placing in the earth.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Matt. :))
ReplyDeleteRabbi Matt, Did you have to be so graphic and defining on all the fun and excitement I missed out on?! I REALLY wanted to be there but I had to go to my nephew's wedding in Wisc. that weekend and see my 99 yr. old Dad also. My thoughts and prayers were with you . . . I didn't have Youth leaders prepared to bring them on this extraordinary trip (something as a Youth leader in my day I would've planned out months before and not missed for the world!) Your blog and pics make me kvel! YOU da Man, Rabbi! You da man, Bless you always and in all ways. In His Grip, Rabbi Joe Vitkus
ReplyDeleteAwesome reflection, Matt! Two quick thoughts:
ReplyDelete1. I've always understood rain to be a sign of blessing (see, for example, Deut 11:13-17).
2. The multi-generational leadership part reminded me of how Moshe ordained Yehoshua before he died, so that there was some overlap of their leadership (between Num 27 and Deut 34). I think it probably was much smoother this way, since this time of "co-leadership" prepared Yehoshua to take the lead and it prepared the people for a new leader (since Moshe was all they had known).
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing :)
Great word Matt!! Loved your thoughts...We do want to stand with you--it's so much more fun!! (and such a blessing to see our prayers answered)
ReplyDeleteWished I could have been there, but "Amen" to all of the above! I've been to no less than 33 Messiah Conferences, and it does my heart good to see so many prayers answered. Shalom to all the generations working together. :>)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, nice post! Post really provice useful information!
